Florida Congressional Election 2014 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I believe the parents or mother have to make that moral decision but I don't believe tax dollars should fund abortions.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
I don't believe we should just reduce defense spending in a broad sense. I don't think we should be funding resource wars and funding DOD contracts that go towards anything non defense related in other countries. I think soldiers are generally underpaid and salaries need to be reconsidered. We could cut congressional salaries to help support military pay I'm in favor of the Fair Tax.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Campaign contributions should be limited. At the very least, it should be absolutely transparent as to the source of funding.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering taxes as a way of promoting growth in the economy?
Yes Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
Yes Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
Yes, so long as those reforms are agreed upon at state and county level and don't create any undue burdens on the schools.
No Do you support building the Keystone XL pipeline?
No Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
Yes Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I believe in a common sense approach to regulation. Regulation should be reasonable and make sense to the people that are most affected by it though.
No Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
I support the Second Amendment
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
I believe we should focus more on insurance industry regulation as a means to help Americans find affordable healthcare. I do not believe that citizens should pay a penalty for not wanting to accept health care.
No Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Yes Do you support same-sex marriage?
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
No Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Unless they have posed a direct threat to the U.S.
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?

I would greatly reduce spending on congressional salaries, staff, and office budgets. Currently, the salary stands at $174,000, office budget is roughly $250,000 and staff budget is close to $1,000,000. If we cut $60k from each of these categories, we would put an additional $96,300,000 back into the budget.
I support the Fairtax. I would be in favor of a consumption tax instead of an income tax. This would give individuals greater control of their finances.
Propose and support legislation that protects and defends the Constitution
